As children of God, it truly is okay for us all to be One of a Kind. In fact, it is paramount. We can separate ourselves from the rudiments of the world and hold fast to the ways of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The bible states in 2 Kings 23:25 KJV that King Josiah was the only king who did what was right in the sight of the Lord and followed His commandments. There was no other king before him or after him according to the scripture who did so. The scripture states that King Josiah “turned to the Lord with all his heart, and all his soul, and all his might.” He was truly one of a kind among kings.
We too can be one of a kind as King Josiah. 2 Kings 22:2 KJV states, “Let us do that which is right in the sight of God and walk in the ways of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ turning not aside to the right hand or to the left.” In doing so, we will find ourselves walking in obedience to God’s word and following His commandments.
God’s Ten Commandments still stand. Jesus made himself clear in reassuring the masses that he did not come to cancel out the law, but to fulfill it. They are part of Code I of the Law of Moses. Remember, Jesus did not come to cancel out the law. He came to fulfill the law; which offered no redemption of sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV states, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin to take on the sins of the world. The law alone didn’t offer any such redemption of sin. Clearly, it is still God’s expectation that we follow the Ten Commandments. They are not null and void and never will be.
Here is the Ten Commandments One Of A Kind Challenge. You are officially challenged to read each and every one of the Ten Commandments in the bible one by one. After reading each one, reflect upon your life to date. Have you violated that commandment? If so, how? You must then write three things that you can do to keep yourself obedient to that commandment. Keep the list handy. Carry out each task daily.
The exercise of keeping a mind frame of total submission to God will help as you grow in His word and strive to walk in obedience to His word. None of us are perfect. The only one free of sin is Jesus. Each one of us has sinned whether in thought (sin of omission) or in deed (sin of commission). Repent of your sin and turn away from it. We are all under construction. Begin the challenge today! Start on your path to becoming One Of A Kind.
